2. Limit yourself during development

At first glance eZ Publish offers flexibility far beyond your imagination. For instance, you can make an advanced ERP system based on the eZ Publish content framework, but keep in mind that this is not necessarily your most effective alternative. Still, nothing should stop you from extending eZ Publish to a CMS with ERP-inspired functionality.

3. Open Source for professionals

4. Don't hack the kernel !

Ask any eZ Developer in the world if he/she has ever hacked the kernel to optimize source code and functionality, and they will probably blush and confess that it was their first project. You should accept and deal with the fact that no software is perfect. It will save you time and many problems during upgrades.
