WebDeal has chosen the open source firewall vendor Astaro for our high performance redundant firewall setup. Astaro has a very high level of security, as concluded also by ICSA Labs and other independent security analysts.

When do you need a firewall ?

It's common to believe that firewalls are necessary in order to keep a server secure, but that is not entirely true. A flawlessly maintained server without security holes in the software layer will not necessarily need a firewall.
